It's ok

But these kind of games are usually preloader games, not games in themselves. I would also suggest disabliling forward and play, because you can cheat with those.

Very nice.

I love this. It's amazingly done, especially the coding. How it got under 5 MB is beyond me. Great job, and can't wait to see more from you.

OK for a first try

OK, it was a good concept, but the scripting made it really hard to do anything.

Graphics: They were ok character designs. In the part with the bed in the first scene, it looked like the bed was almost on it's side, and during the specials, you have

Sound: It needed WAY more music and sound effects. All RPG's need backround music for when they walk around, fight music, and cutscene music. You only had 1. Also, it could definitely use voice actors.

Coding: OK, this needed a TON of work. First off, in the first scene, I could bareley walk outside. Also, it was really annoying having to click the text instead of just a box to do something, especially when the text is so small. So yea, a lot to work out. Also, it's really really really hard. Might want to get some beta-testers next time.

So, in short, you need to work a lot harder on the coding, but I would definitely like to see this after you've fixed all of the major problems with it, because it seems like a really original idea.

pepijn-claus responds:

Thanks, i know the part with the bed wasn't great.
About the sounds: In the beginning, there was a lot of sounds in the game, but the file was to big.
There was also voice actors for Pippin, Tristan and Splinter, but then there was a bug in the game:
Pippin did everything automatically when he was fighting the devil. I've removed the bug, and also the voice actors.

The coding: I've only used loops and gotoandplays, no actionscripts.
I will try to use actionscripts in part 2.
I know you can walk outside, but it was to difficult to delete that bug.

They were two testers, and one of them said also that it was really hard, if you need help: Go to "Diagram" (in the main menu), it will help you!

In part 2, there will be voice actors and more sounds in the game, thanks for your review!

Thanks

It's a cool tutorial. Very helpful, I only have 3 suggestions, add music, make a replay button, and spell check (there is one part where it says sart instead fo start). Other than that, thanks for the tutorial. This definitely deserves to be in the tutorials collection.

Afflict responds:

Thank you moose for the review.

The spell cheking, I did that and fix some errors! I cant believe I messed that up.

Then again it really wasnt planned just a spur of the moment tutorial. Inspired by a fourm topic. (But i should of taken more time and made less erros)

Youll be happy to know that I have changed it uploaded a new version. I added a little content too. However the music as mentioned above in another review. I cant justify it... Adds alot to file size and will lok into putting it into a compiled tutorial collection.

But let me leave you with a question what type of music would you guys preffer in a tutorial?

Once again thanks for the review and the nice comments!

Regards,

Afflict.

So glad to be a part of this.

I knew when I saw the audition for this at the VAC, it would be HUGE. I just wish my character wasn't so hard to get XD, freakin Inuyasha took me hours to get. Still, I'm so glad to be in this, even if it's only as one hard-to-hear character.

I dare say this is better then the one for the N64, so here's my official review:

Graphics 9/10: Wow, even though they are sprites, they are really well done. I'm suprised you could find that many. And the backgrounds, damn, the backgrounds were amazing. Great job.

Style 8/10: The animation was pretty fluid, but there is some parts where the animation is a little bad, other then that, it's great.

Sound 10/10: Kagome couldn't of done a better job on this. Wow, I'm speechless. She has one of those voices, where you never get bored or tired of hearing it. My voice was ok, but I only had one character, so whatever. The voices you ripped were perfect, and the backgrounds matched very well. Great job with that too.

Coding 10/10: That is some impressive stuff. Save feature, hidden characters, the works. Amazing. I'm in love with this game.

This definitely earned my 5 and 10/10. This is one of those games that completely redefnes the world of Flash video games. Great job. Whatever you win you totally deserve.

Cleod-9 responds:

Thanks a lot! Sorry about your character being so hard to get and hear. I couldn't crank up the volume any more without making it sound a little awkward compared to the other sounds. I dunno, I had the same problem with Naruto too. I guess if I had more sound it would be better but the file size is already big enough.

It's ok

It's a great idea, but it really has no catch. Like everyone else said, this needs pictures and/or narration to keep attention. It's a good idea, you just need to expand on it.

Also, when I say pictures, I mean hand drawn, not taken from real life.

Well, it's ok

Graphics: Not very pretty. It's not crappy looking, but it still is just stick figures

Animation: Your animation was good and fluid

Style: Well, there was no real point to it. You should of made a stick figure animation tutorial, instead of a anticipation tutorial. You're overall presentation of the tutorial was ok, but it just needed a hook.

Sound: You should of had backround music, any music at all.

Overall: 4/10. It's an ok tutorial, but not many people will use it.

Awesome job

I told you this before, but I loved this. It's so awesome. I had so much fun playing this. I can't wait to see it on the frontpage.

Really creative and fun

That was really creative. Most people nowadays just make a game like "kill the babies!" but you've gone and made a really creative and unique game. Its not perfect, but keep working on it, and it will be great. I hope to see more of your work in the future.

Hey there everyone. I'm a voice actor. Look at my favorites list for some roles I've been in. Visit my website for my resume, demo's, etc.
